Venue The Arena by Transstadia, Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Match overview:

The inter-zonal challenge week continues on in the Pro Kabaddi League 2018 as the second day of the Ahmedabad leg sees Bengal Warriors face off against the Puneri Paltan at the Arena by Transstadia.

Puneri Paltan come into this match on the back of two losses in the past two legs and will hope to get their league season on the right track to maintain a playoffs spot. The team has been hit by the absence of their star raider Nitin Tomar who has been sidelined due to an injury sustained earlier in the season. They have struggled to get their raiding unit in order and have tried various combinations with Deepak Kumar Dahiya, Akshay Jadhav, Rajesh Mondal and GB More but none of them have been able to fill the void of Nitin Tomar. In addition, the form of their captain Girish Maruti Ernak has depleted after a strong start. A bright spot has been the resurgence of the alI-rounder Sandeep Narwal who has been effective from the right corner. The Paltan will have to be strong aII-around to get the win over the Bengal Warriors.

The Bengal Warriors also have been victims of inconsistent play with just two wins in their past five matches and lie in the bottom half of the Zone B standings. The team were dominated by the Patna Pirates in the Mumbai leg with a 50-30 loss owing to the brilliance of Pardeep Narwal. Their raiding department has been a one-man show with Maninder Singh raking in the points and has lacked support from Mahesh Goud and Jang Kun Lee. The defence has been comparatively better with the emergence of youngsters Baldev Singh and Adarsh T on the corners. Ran Singh has been put in a new role of an all-rounder and done well with the responsibility. The skipper Surjeet Singh will hope the side can get their bearings together against a wounded Puneri Paltan who will be going all out for the win.

Maninder Singh (16.5 Cr) and Deepak Kumar Dahiya (13.5 Cr) form the raiding unit of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.
