India Women vs Ireland Women, 13th Match, Group B, ICC Women’s World T20

November 15, 2018, 8:30 PM IST

Providence Stadium, Guyana

Seven games have already been played here at the Providence Stadium in Guyana and the results are staked in the favour of the team batting first. Five out of the seven games have been won by the teams batting first. The pitch has been a touch slower and tends to turn as the game progresses.
Though the temperatures are expected to be in the high 203, thunderstorms are expected. Hence, the game could get affected by rain.

The Indian team sits pretty on the points table. They are currently placed second and seem to be in a very good position at the moment. The batting has been a big plus with different batters contributing in the two games. The bowling has done well as well. However, it is the fielding that the 'Women in Blue’ will want to improve largely. They dropped quite a few catches in their last game.

On the other hand, the Irish women have lost two on the trot. In their first game, they were completely outplayed and were bundled out for 93. In the second game, they were good with the ball but the batters once again disappointed as they failed to chase down 140.

Taniya Bhatia might not have scored a lot of runs in the last two games but she has been very good behind the stumps. She has already taken 2 catches and effected 3 stumpings in this tournament. With the bat, she has the ability to keep the scoreboard ticking and also play the attacking shots.

Harmanpreet Kaur has been in sublime form and has lit up this World T20 already. On the other hand, Jemimah Rodrigues has been in fine touch and she is one of the players to watch out for in this tournament. Smriti Mandhana has had a couple of disappointing games with the bat and she will be itching to get back amongst the runs.

Meanwhile, Clare Shillington is the only Irish batter who has registered double digit scores in both games. She will look to build on those starts and give Ireland a solid start.

Dayalan Hemalatha made her T20| debut in this World T20 but she has been very impressive. She's picked up 5 wickets and more importantly, she bowled well at the death in the last game. Isobel Joyce looked good with the bat and was Ireland’s top-scorer (30) in the game against Pakistan.

Poonam Yadav has been India's go-to bowler in the shortest format of the game. She has the knack of picking up wickets at crucial stages of the game. Lucy O'Reilly has been mighty impressive. She picked up 3/19 in the last game against Pakistan. Ireland leftarm Ieg-spinner Ciara Metcalfe, who picked up 1/16 against Pakistan, and India's premier fast bowler Arundathi Reddy, who has picked up 2 wickets in the tournament so far, round up the XI.

Alternatives: Radha Yadav forArundathi Reddy, Celeste Raack for Ciara Metcalfe
