Otago is currently sitting pretty on the second spot. They have as many wins (five) as Wellington but their net run-rate is poorer. Northern Knights are one spot beneath with three wins from their seven games.

In their last match, Otago picked up a threewicket win against Auckland. Michael Rippon bowled an outstanding speli of 3/47 in 10 overs with two maidens. He was we” supported by Duffy and Barnes. Chasing 251 was a complete team effort. Broom (49), Nathan Smith (43) and Rippon (38) completed a three-wicket win.

Northern Knights also ceiebrated an impressive win as they managed to chase down Canterbury's total of 308 runs. Brett Randell grabbed two wickets in the first innings. Knights Captain Brownlie top-scored with 73 while Carter scored a not out 65. Bocock contributed with 57 and the Knights won with 10 balls remaining.

OTG:

Otago had announced their 13-man squad for the three matches that are taking place in this week.

Martln Cralg has been named in the squad but did not play in the last match. If he is fit for this game, he could come in place of Brad Wilson.

In Rutherford, Renwick and Broom, Otago has a solid top order. Their bowling department is strengthened by the presence of plenty of allrounders.

NK:

Northern Districts had also declared their 13man squad for the full week of matches.

James Baker and Henry Cooper are two who missed out in the match.

With the strong performance in the last game, the playing XI is likely to be unchanged.

Dean Brownlie, Anton Devcich and Daryl Mitchell will be the pillars of this team. Nic Kelly, Joe Carter and Brett Hampton are in good form.
