IND vs. NZ Dream 11 Team Prediction for 5th ODI: Preview | Guptill doubts, MSD returns

Hello and welcome to our preview of India vs. New Zealand ODI. For the fifth ODI game, we cover the forecast, preview and expected XI game of the IND against the NZ Dream 11 team. The game will be played at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington.

The fifth and final ODI between India and New Zealand has virtually no significance, except for us Dream11 players. These are precious few chances for the teams to test their combinations leading to the World Cup. India have already brought the series 3-1 up, but the game will be fiercely contested.

India wobbled against the fine swing demonstration of New Zealand Trent Boult. The top order was packed and the list collapsed like a card game including debutant Shubman Gill. From 55/8, the team was supported by the spin duos Chahal and Kuldeep, who brought the team to 92. The bowlers were helpless with such a small score.

After the home team looked harmless in the first three games, they came back with an outstanding bowling performance. First bowling, the Blackcaps bowlings enjoyed the swinging conditions. Boult continued his 10-year spell uninterruptedly, while de Grandhomme also picked three wickets. Ross Taylor and Henry Nicholls have completed the hunt without any problems.

Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, K Khaleel Ahmed, Mohammed Shami, Vijay Shankar, Pandya

Kane Williamson (c), Trent Boult, Jimmy Neesham, Colin von Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham (WK), Colin Munro, Henry Nicholls, Mitchell Santner, Todd Astle, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor

Team News:

Sanjay Bangar has confirmed that MS Dhoni will be fit for the fifth ODI, according to the reports on Twitter. He is expected to come instead of Dinesh Karthik.

Captain Rohit Sharma and opening Shikhar Dhawan are expected to improve after the fourth ODI. Shubman Gill should get another chance at number three.

The middle order will probably be Rayudu, Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav, with Dhoni wearing the gloves.

Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder, makes punches at death. Kuldeep and Chahal will be the spin weapons.

India rested Shami in the last game. There is no update on whether or not they will become Bhuvi, so the pacemakers are unsure. Bhuvneshwar and Khaleel played in the fourth ODI.

New Zealand:

New Zealand opener Martin Guptill is questionable about back injuries for tomorrow's ODI. Colin Munro was called up.

New Zealand has had many changes in the last game and they will probably stay with them.

Henry Nicholls will be the other opener. Williamson and Taylor remain solid in middle-ranking alongside goalkeeper Tom Latham.

Next are three all-rounders. James Neesham, Mitchell Santner and Colin de Grandhomme give the bat and ball more depth.

Todd Astle will be the leading spinner. NZ likes to spin his pace attack, maybe we see Southee or Ferguson instead of Henry. Trent Boult will probably continue.

Probable playing of XI:

Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Ambati Rayadu, MS Dhoni / Dinesh Karthik (WC.), Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Khaleel Ahmed

Colin Munro / Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls, Kane Williamson (c), Ross Taylor, Tom Latham (WC), Jimmy Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Colin von Grandhomme, Todd Astle, Trent Boult, Tim Southee / Matt Henry / Lockie Ferguson
